Do you believe love at first sight?

"It's only the 2nd day that i notice your presence. When i first began to notice you, you left me a good first impression. Probably this is the "feel" people used to talk about, im starting to want to get your attention & indeed we both caught each other. The sense of steadiness, maturity and the rare smile i saw on you did got me interested. You seldom talk in the journey but knew how to interact when needed. To me, you seemed quiet & calm, giving me the sense of serenity that for all these years i never realised i love it. The figure of you getting engrossed in reading surprised me. You're unlike other guys. However, the journey ended but i only got to know you a little. So i said a little prayer, i hope to meet you again with the most little information i know about you..."

the above was extracted from erm...wait i forgotten where. but nvm, jus read for fun. hahahah:D

CAMBODIA TRIP:

DAY1-
woke up at 2:30am -yawn- then call cab and assembled at changi airport for the flight to SIEM REAP. JetStar Asia for 2 hrs hah:D short journey but it seemed long to me, dunno why. ohh then finally reached siem reap international airport! siem reap is nice cozy village like place, the nicest buildings there are the HOTELS and VILLAS o.0 they're really majestic and retro! really prettyaye. i stayed in MAJESTIC ANGKOR HOTEl, a hotel opened by a s'porean haha. then proceed to visit the floating village of Chong Khneas. Then, enjoyed a traditional wooden boat ride on one of the largest lakes in Asia, Tonle Sap Lake, also known as the Great Lake of Cambodia. seriously we meet lots of children begging for money along the way to the boat ride. hmph, what can i say, if u step into their life, you wld noe how fortunate we ppl are. as city dwellers, those ppl went on with life with very low sanitary, education and materialistic level. adults survived by catching fishes, growing veggies, selling stuffs to tourists? my eyes got teary upon looking at the children in the village. Ooh the lake water is sort of like multi-purpose, they used it for drinking, washing, bathing and even as toilets-.= that's why its damn dirty -eek- the children there are great swimmers man! they even float around in basins. rofl-.- then they came around to sell fruits and drinks.

then after that went Les Artisans d 'Angkor which offers a professional integration to young artisans that were trained at the Chantiers-Ecoles de Formation Professionnelle (CEFP), a Cambodian state-run organization. It is renowned for its woodworking, stone carving and polychrome workshops. Admire the exquisite art works which reveal the unique skills of the artisans trained in the techniques and styles of the classic Cambodian artistry. Nevertheless, it just seemed like some carving art to me:D

then lunch, a thai style lunch, buffet! go back hotel & rest! 6pm went for dinner again, its a local restaurant, buffet again, what i rmb are those delicious barbecued chicken i ate. in the midst of it we listened to some traditonal music played in a boatlike instrument (local one) that sound like a xylophone? hahaaa! its damn boring, the rythmn is slower than the thai song and to me, it sounded as if it was repeating itself zzz. then was erm Apsara dance performance. wad crap. its so damn boring can? ppl are either falling asleep, talking or staring hard at it in order not to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzz.

-sleep- yay! i watched e zhuo ju 2 wen in the taiwan channel available.hahahaha:D

Day2:

woke up at 6? and then after breakfast went to the world renowned temples of the ancient city, Angkor, capital of the powerful Khmer Empire!!! -drumrolls&claps- Visited the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom to view its series of colossal human faces carved in stones. Then, viewed the enigmatic smiling faces of Bayon along its narrow corridors and steep flight of stairs. Thereafter, went to the Royal Enclosure, Elephants Terrace, the mysterious site of the Terrace of Leper King and Phimeanakas, the mountain temple in the centre of Royal Palace. After that travelled to Ta Prohm Temple, also known as "Tomb Raider Temple". Unlike most of the temples of Angkor, it has been largely left to the clutches of the living jungle. Saw the enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure. It's like WOW! the tree's there for 500 yrs! yup and it got its name cos angelina jolie filmed tomb raider there in 2001? haha:D interesting.

then went for buffet lunch at this hotel opened by a s'porean again. nice food! tired at the same time cos the Sun is burning hot! and we walk a lot la:D

omg magnificent Angkor Wat. seriously along the way in its very tiring cos its so hot and humid then again the place is zomg sooooo big! and i completely got numb, hafta climb stairs and walked pass this buddha, -pray pray-! Finally in, i switched off yeah? too exhausted and i'm practically not surviving. okay so basically viewed carvings on the walls which reveal the beliefs, practices and the way of life then. Strolled around the site of this massive monument to explore many of its galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds:D then finally walked out of angkor wat through a shorter sandy route, as usual along the way lots of children hover up to sell things to us.

angkor thom and angkor wat is sort of renovating? i cannot believe that la can? they're destroying the olden day remains and trying to maintain it in good condition for the sake of tourism but so wad? they're destroying the heritage of the place, jus like how they did it to great wall of china! i pity the ppl who painstakingly built great wall of china in the qin dynasty, look all the efforts gone with the construction.

set dinner at seng fatt restaurant. chinese restaurant haha!:D yum yum!

Day3:

woke up at 5:30am =.= zzzZZ cos we're going off to Phnom Penh today. yeahh captial!! i was hoping to see a more urbanised and stylish place since its called the "Pearl of Asia". ooh and guess what the bus jouney took freakingly 6 hrs!!!!!!!!!!!???? when its only 340km from siem reap to phnom penh. so boringgggggg zzzz =[ one thing is the bus can only drive at 30-40km per hr in cambodia so cant blame anyone =[ had 3 toilet breaks through. first toilet break is damn funny. guess what the male toilets had no doors, its jus 2 walls that's all. zomg! all the females are laughing hahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahah:D last toilet break we reached this very famous place where they sell fried spiders and crickets -eek disgusting- for once u might feel the same as what i thought, but hey actually fried spiders are nutritious:P but we didnt really dare to eat cos we're warned that local street food might not be very hygenic and pretty much ppl get food poisoning after eating them. so we dare not touch those stuffs:D i was sleeping, listening to music, playing hp game, chatting with

& finally...PHNOM PENH. tumtumtum! rach is there too! but rach i didnt see u at all although we're in the same city hahahaha=] Phnom Penh, well-known for its traditional Khmer and French influenced architecture, indeed a more urbanised place but is almost equivalent to a more underdeveloped city in china. okayaye cant say its underdeveloped but jus that u cant say its urbanised, in the 60s it might be a really nice place, hectic and developed. but it's been staying like this for 40yrs. so yeah u noe... ...lunch at the BIG LUCK RESTAURANT was uncomfortable dunno why.hahaha:D

The driver drove us to see the Independence Monument to view its lotus-shaped stupa form which is a combination of Khmer and Modernist style. Then visited the Royal Palace, a 18th-century French villa presented to Cambodia by Empress Eugenia after the opening of Suez Canal. wow and i was enthralled by the jade Buddha in Silver Pagoda floored with over 5,000 silver tiles. It's like wow the buddhas there. hahah:D & the royal palace was woots. Then went to visit Wat Phnom, the legendary temple that recites the history of how Phnom Penh got its name. Situated on the only hill in the capital, it comprises the pagoda that house the 4 Buddha statues found in a tree floating on the Mekong River.

Dinner was nice again at a local hotel:S chinese food yada yada.
omg hotel room was a suite! shyt its damn big, combi of 2 rooms! xomg i got a queen size bed by myself! heehee:P

Day4:

woke up at 8:30am. yupp the journey to killing field was long cos its more at the border of the city. after that went Toul Sleng Museum which provides a grim reminder of the genocidal horrors from 1975 to 1979 i think. Both places seemed not that eerie but looking at the history behind it, you can forsee how it is at night. i wonder why there are ppl leaving near those places. for more info abt choeng ek and tuol sleng musuem. read the prev post!:D SKULLLSS! then went naga world casino, the aunties tried their luck there! haha its fun to see ppl gambling la but i nvr understand the games except the jackpot machine teehee:P kids are allowed in but no gambling! i think some ppl won some money hhaa:D but still in casinos. losing money is still more than winning money lah:D

lunch was at a chinese restaurant=] nicest food in phnom penh so we've decided to go again tmrw:P then went National Museum which showcases a stunning collection of Khmer art and sculptures from the Angkor period, ranging from the 4th century to 15th century.

We also went one of the city's most vibrant markets, Psah Toul Tom Pong, the "Russian Market" which sells a wide array of local goods and handicrafts. Then most went Central Market, a covered market distinguished by its central dome to browse and shop. It is filled with shops selling jewellery, fabrics and all kinds of souvenirs & CLOTHES:D heehee so nice but i went tmrw. so was resting in hotel for 1.5 hrs=]

haha dinner at a thai khmer restaurant. local food with the tom yam taste. yuck. i prefer the s'pore tom yam.

back to room, ooh there's channel8 hahahah:D but the programme is like 2 wks ago's programme. lmao=[

Day5:

free and easy! woke up at 8 plus i think. then went central market, 2 shopping malls, supermarkets and erm...a confectionary:D

checked out at 12pm, waited for the coach to come and go for lunch at the same place as ytd. then went for this 1.5hr boat ride at mekong river. zzz. boring! but nice view:D then went shopping at the best shopping centre in phnom penh. the stuffs there are quite updated and nice so i bought a shirt, before that bought a sunglass at central market:D

phnom penh airport is pretty decent but small, little shops, cant be compared to changi airport la:D but still okay.

& finally back home 1.5hrs of flight in jetstar asia! by the time i got home its 1am o.0 then slept at 2am =P

yesterday went jw lib and on the mrt ride back i saw one of the aunties in the tour grp!
hahahaha what a conincidence.

post getting boring.
im goin to watch tv:D
