i'll just go one by one 'cos hafta go for smth soon so i think i'll blog abt others next daythen i can go day by day. yay! Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum & Choeung Ek "The Killing Field" It was formerly a high school named after a king at that time. the five buildings of the complex were converted in 1975 into a prison and interrogation centre so it was renamed "Security Prison 21" (S-21) which is like a prison? the buildings were enclosed in electrified barbed wire, the classrooms converted into tiny prison and torture chambers, and all windows were covered with iron bars and barbed wire to prevent escapes cos one woman attempts to escape by jumping down the building-.= Choeung Ek too, rumours have explained that that piece of land is haunted at night, and i can say that they're probably souls that couldn't rest in peace. & indeed those deceased were transported from S-21 to killing field then executed and buried. -sighs again- & what makes me shiver is the exhibition abt "GHOSTS OF TUOL SLENG" Photos taken in 2005 by tourists (i think) where the face of some of the ppl then being tortured were reflected in the photos jus like "ghost in photo". which really irks me a little. i feel like, why do i even come to this haunted place for goodness sake? thankgod i took no pics:D This place probably affected me the most, seeing how it wasn't too long ago, just 20-30 odd years and it was pure inhumanity what the Pol Pot clique did. Killing all men, women and children with no mercy, bizzare means of torture, horrible mass killings. They dug out the brains of the smart people and actually have a contraption for it, grabbed babies by their legs and threw them against trees, buried people alive, drowned them, skinned them alive (literally), sawed the heads off with a relatively sharp leaf blade and made sure they were conscious till they died. & then they were sent to the Choeung Ek, also known as the killing fields and chemical were spilled all over them, & some were buried alive, executed...they're innocent, they're jus educated and holds a good job. what makes them deserve this?= And the rules they had at Tuol Sleng during the torturing period: 1. You must answer accordingly to my questions - don't turn them away. 2. Don't try to hide the facts by making pretexts this and that. You are strictly prohiited to contest me. 3. Don't be a fool for you are a chap who dare to thwart the revolution. 4. You must immediately answer my questions without wasting time to reflect. 5. Don't tell me either about your immoralities or the essence of the revolution. 6. While getting lashes or electrification you must not cry at all. 7. Do nothing, sit still and wait for my orders. If there is no order, keep quiet. When I ask you to do something, you must do it right away without protesting. 8. Don't make pretext about Kampuchea Kromin order to hide your secret or traitor. 9. If you don't follow all the above rules, you shall get many lashes of electric wire. 10. If you disobey any point of my regulations you shall get either ten lashes or five shocks of electric discharge. D: sad case. besides earning money and letting huge nos. of tourists going in to these 2 places. cant they just let the souls of the deceased rest in peace? y'know we're guilty of disturbing them and stepping on the soil, beneath was where the bodies are buried. y'know when walking on the soils u can see parts of clothes appearing and even bones. bones. omfg. im speechless. & now i feel so serious. byedear, TAKEMYHAND:D Comment Here (: (0) / back to top? |
